2024 Tournament Details

Dear Coach, Manager or Scheduler:

The 47th Annual Spirit of Duluth Hockey Tournament is scheduled to be held December 6, 7, 8, 2024.

The tournament will be for boys hockey at the Squirt A, Pee Wee AA, Bantam AA, and Junior Gold A levels and above. Defending champions will again be guaranteed entry in the tournament if they apply.

The tournament will be held at the Sill Arena and Seitz Arena at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center, Mars Lakeview Arena on the Duluth Marshall School campus, Fryberger Arena, the DECC Arena, and SAHA Arena in Superior, Wisconsin. The tournament will follow the same format as in past years, with all teams in each division playing in a round-robin format. Teams will be guaranteed a minimum of 4 games, and some teams will play five games. Squirts will play 14-minute stop time periods, Pee Wees will play 15-minute stop time periods; Bantams and Junior Gold will play 17-minute stop time periods.

If your team wishes to apply to participate in the tournament, please complete the application for each team and provide it to the tournament representative at the appropriate level no later than Friday, August 5, 2024.

Teams will be notified regarding acceptance for the tournament in August 2024.

This year’s entry fee for Pee Wee, Bantam, and Junior Gold teams is $1,995. The entry fee for Squirt teams is $1,895. This amount includes both the tournament fee and gate fee. Accepted teams are required to pay $1,000 of the entry fee on or before October 7, 2023, with the remaining balance due on or before November 11, 2024. Teams may also pay the entire entry fee with one check on or before October 7, 2023. If your team applies and is selected, but the minimum $1,000 payment is not received by October 7, 2024, a new team may be selected. Any accepted team that drops out after November 1, 2024 will not be refunded any payments previously made.

The tournament schedule and other information will be sent to accepted teams as soon as available in November 2024. Accepted teams must be prepared for the possibility of playing as early as 8:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7, 2024. There will be no changes once the schedules are sent out.
